R&P x Tegan Yorwarth: Real Talk, Real Impact

Some people just get it. Tegan Yorwarth is one of them.

When we were looking for someone to help us reach more wāhine, Māori, and Pasifika communities, someone who could bring real energy and authenticity to the kōrero, Tegan was the first person we thought of. A broadcaster on MaiFM and proud champion of her people, she’s known for keeping it honest, grounded, and real. So naturally, this collaboration made sense.

We created a series of three Instagram Reels with Tegan in late 2024. Each one touched on a different part of her financial journey, including the process of buying her first home and the types of insurance that made sense for her life at that time. It wasn’t staged or polished. It was open, personal, and full of those lightbulb moments that help people finally go, “Oh… that’s what that means.”

But this partnership didn’t stop at socials.

Tegan also joined us in early 2025 as a keynote speaker for our financial education charity event in Ōtautahi. Her voice brought power and heart to the day, reminding our audience why financial education needs to be accessible, inclusive, and led by people who live what they teach.

Client - yes. Friend - of course. Supporter, and someone we’re genuinely grateful to walk alongside in this space - hell yeah.

Why We Teamed Up

Because there are too many women who still feel like insurance isn’t “for them.” Like it’s too hard, too confusing, or just not a priority. And Tegan helped us shift that narrative.

By showing her own journey, asking the honest questions, and talking through the unknowns, she helped make insurance feel a little less intimidating — and a lot more human.
