Māori Millionaire x R&P Insurance

Empowering Financial Futures Through Real Kōrero

R&P first connected with Te Kahukura through Māori Millionaire, a podcast collaboration that became a meeting of minds, values, and shared purpose.

Te Kahukura created a platform for rangatahi Māori ready to take control of their finances, build financial literacy, and spark generational change. R&P joined the kōrero to highlight a major gap in that journey: insurance. The kind of insurance kōrero that feels relatable, clear, and grounded in real life.

Together, we recorded a 4-part podcast series breaking down:

  • What insurance even is (and why it doesn’t have to be scary)

  • Life, health, trauma, and income cover — what it all means

  • General insurance like house, car, contents, travel, and pet insurance

  • Business insurance and how it protects your hustle

The goal? Make sure young Māori have access to the kind of straight-up advice that feels more like a whānau kōrero than a lecture.

And it didn’t stop there.

When Te Kahukura started writing her book, Māori Millionaire: A Beginner’s Guide to Building Better Money Habits, she asked Rochelle to contribute to Chapter 13, about financial armour and the role insurance plays in protecting your future. That chapter now holds practical tips, plain-language advice, and a reminder that knowing your worth means protecting it.

Te Kahukura became a client, a friend, and a fierce supporter of our charitable trust, which focuses on improving the financial wellbeing of wāhine.

Why This Matters

This partnership is about representation. About seeing wāhine Māori voices leading the conversation on wealth, risk, and protection. About showing up with aroha and expertise, and making sure no one’s left behind, just because the system hasn’t always been built for them.

If you're curious about what cover looks like for you or want to understand it without the jargon, this podcast is a great place to start.
